Treatment

Polynucleotides — biological
skin regeneration.

Polynucleotides are highly purified DNA fragments (usually obtained from salmon milt) used for skin regeneration. They stimulate the body's own cellular activity, collagen production and wound-healing processes.

Unlike fillers, polynucleotides don't change contour — they improve the biological quality of the skin. They are particularly proven for sensitive areas such as the eye area, neck and delicate skin.

At Dr. Harris, we use polynucleotides for patients who prefer a biological, long-term-oriented approach to skin regeneration — alone or combined with other methods.

Where polynucleotides are particularly effective.

Classic indications: eye area (fine lines, tired expression, lower-eyelid skin quality), neck, décolleté and sensitive skin areas. Also valuable as support after microneedling, laser or combined with PRP.

Polynucleotides are not suitable for volume corrections — fillers are indicated there. For pronounced skin laxity they may complement Profhilo® or skinboosters, but not replace them.

The Dr. Harris principle.

Polynucleotides work gradually and biologically. We use them where we want to support skin quality at the cellular level — particularly for sensitive skin or around the eyes, where more aggressive methods are not appropriate.

Every treatment is personally planned and performed by Dr. Harris.

Indication

When it makes sense — and when we advise against it.

Suitable when …

  • the eye area appears tired, with fine lines and loss of skin quality
  • neck and décolleté show loss of hydration and fine wrinkles
  • a biological, long-term-oriented method is preferred
  • sensitive skin areas should be treated gently
  • combination with PRP, skinbooster or Profhilo® is planned

We advise against it when …

  • pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • known fish allergy (polynucleotides from salmon milt)
  • an acute skin infection in the treatment area
  • an immediate, dramatic result is expected
  • another treatment would be medically more appropriate

Frequently Asked

Good to know.

What exactly are polynucleotides?

Highly purified DNA fragments, usually obtained from salmon milt. They stimulate the body's own regeneration processes — collagen, elastin, cellular activity — and are approved as a medical device.

What is the difference to filler or Profhilo®?

Fillers build volume, Profhilo® improves skin quality across an area, polynucleotides support skin regeneration at the cellular level — particularly for sensitive skin and around the eyes.

Are polynucleotides safe?

Polynucleotides are highly purified and have been used in skin medicine for years. Treatment is not recommended if a fish allergy is known. All risks are discussed before treatment.

When will I see results?

First changes after 3–6 weeks, full effect after about 8 weeks. The effect builds gradually.

Is the treatment painful?

Little. Very fine needles, often with topical cream. In the eye area, treatment is well tolerated thanks to particularly thin needles.

What side effects are possible?

Usually mild: small papules (12–24 hours), light redness, rarely small bruises. Serious complications are rare but cannot be entirely excluded.

Can polynucleotides be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Often combined with PRP, skinboosters, Profhilo® or Botulinum toxin — depending on skin quality and indication.

Are polynucleotides right for you?

We discuss your skin quality in a short medical consultation — or via WhatsApp if you would like an initial assessment. No sales pressure, with honest indication.
